How we become disciples of Jesus

KNOW GOD'S

STORY

CREATION

FALL

REDEMPTION

RENEWAL

The narrative of the Bible, from Genesis to Revelation, reveals to us God's unfailing love toward His creation. The Father, the Son, & the Holy Spirit have provided for us eternal life through Jesus' death on the cross and His resurrection. When we know the story and enter into it, we begin to discover the with God life that was intended for us all from the very beginning.

Our desire as a church is to know deeply the story of God through history and understand how this story impacts the entirety of our lives. Knowing the story of God provides meaning to everything we will ever experience in life, providing direction, healing, and hope in every circumstance.

KNOW CHRIST

IN YOU

The redeeming work of Jesus, His blood shed on the cross for the forgiveness of our sins, is the entry point for our eternal life with God. This gift is "our introduction by faith into this grace" (Rom. 5:2) and by His grace we are continually and progressively being transformed into the image of God (Rom. 8:28-30). Laying down our life for His (Matt. 10:39), "we have become united with Him in the likeness of His death, certainly we shall also be in the likeness of His resurrection" (Rom. 6:5).

Our desire as a church is to have a deep commitment to knowing and becoming like Jesus. As we spend time with Jesus and in community, learning how to live, engaging in spiritual disciplines, and relying on the power of the Holy Spirit, we will increasingly take on His character, His life, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory (Col.1:27).

KNOW GOD'S

MISSION

We are on a mission with God. Central Coast Assembly of God's mission is Jesus' great commission.

"Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you" (Matt. 28:19-20).

Our desire as a church is to be deeply committed to spreading the Gospel, the good news that Jesus is King and Savior, along the Oregon Coast and throughout the world. Jesus' departing promise upon His ascension was that we "will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be My witnesses." (Acts 1:8) The gift of the Holy Spirit is the enduement of God's presence and provides power for life and service, the giving of spiritual gifts and their uses in the work of the ministry.
